Item 9263 is a collection of 10 black and white photographs wrapped in an A4 sheet of a photocopy of a newspaper clipping measuring 210mm x 295mm. The clipping is from “THE COURIER- MAIL, WED JULY 16 1975”

 

All 10 photos are approximately 165mm x 220mm size, have a typed note taped to the back showing a description of the scene.

They also have a stamp of “P.M.G’S DEPARTMENT, ENGINEERING DIVISION, BRISBANE.  DRAFTING SECTION PHOTOGRAPH” on the rear, including a negative number starting with QT5153 and the date of 15-7-75 marked in blue ink.

The newspaper story describes the interruption of about 2000 telephone services on Brisbane’s northside due to damage from a posthole digger operating on Breakfast Creek Road, Newstead.

The affected telephone exchanges were Zillmere, Bald Hills, and Pinkenba.
