Item 9268
PMG Display Melbourne 1950
About this Collection
Item 9268 is part of an assortment of 53 black and white photographs contained in a paper covered box 380mm x 502mm x 53mm.
Inside this box was
8 black & white photographs (all 210mm x 158mm) attached to a brown card marked “Melbourne 1950” with a rubber band. (ITEM 9268)
On the back of each photo is stamped “ENGINEERING BRANCH, GPO MELBOURNE. DRAUGHTING SECTION” with a NEG. No. and a hand written “Melbourne 1950”.
The display seems to be suited for an industrial display, or a career/recruitment display, so I’ve labelled this item as “PMG Display Melbourne 1950”, but could have been the Postmaster General’s Department (PMG) display at the Royal Melbourne Show in 1950.
ALSO in the box:-
1 envelope without an address but labelled “Rockhampton Industrial Fair 22-30 Sept 1950” in biro, containing 2 black & white photographs and a 4 page report on foolscap paper. (ITEM 9267)
With 13 loose black & white photographs mounted on grey card, 1 of which is labelled “Rockhampton Industrial Fair 1950”. (ITEM 9267)
7 black & white photographs attached to a 2 page report marked “Melbourne Jubilee Industrial Display 1951”. (ITEM 9269)
5 black & white photographs attached to a brown card marked “Melbourne Jubilee Train 1951”. (ITEM 9270)
